I can't believe I agreed to go on this stupid trip. I've boosted my signal to max and still can't find a satellite.

I thought I was, for a while. But I think I will always be flushed for Karkat.

I guess that's ck's thing - making trolls pant after him and then give up, because he's too cool to actually respond.

[He reaches out and puts a hand on Terezi's head, smiling] I'm glad you and kk are together.

Ooooh, so you are panting after him now?

[She grins.] I am glad, too.

Ugh. [He shoves her head down and ruffles her hair all up before letting go] He'd like to think so, at least.

[She giggles and swats his hand away.]

I can't even make fun of him for being a bad kisser?

Anything but that! Seriously, tz, I told him I wouldn't tell anyone about that.

Laaaame. Fine.

[She laughs and tugs on his hair.]

So how does it feel, stealing someone's first kiss?

[He grunts and squirms at the tug]

Well... it'll feel better if I get more kisses out of it. It's not too bad, though. I just wish he were easier to read.

Cool kids are unflappable! But Dave is not nearly as hard to read as he likes to think.

Yeah, I think I got him a couple of times. [Smiling a bit now] But it's even harder to read him when I can't see. I hope you really can teach me to smell lies and all. I think I might need it.

It is not as difficult as you might think! [She nudges him with her shoulder.] I will teach you everything I know. I promise.

[He slips his arm around her and leans against her shoulder]

[She pauses, tracing a crack in the rock with her fingertips.]

I could try to teach you how to tell when someone is lying, instead.

[He perks up at this] Yeah? Okay. That sounds good.

Okay! I will tell you two things that are true and one that is a lie! There will be a very subtle shift in my scent when I lie.

[He nods and straightens, inhaling a little more deeply as he prepares to try to determine the differences]

Okay, I'm ready.

I will make it easy for you to start with, okay?

So, first! My favorite color is red, Dave smells like cranberries, and my blood is teal.

[He frowns, concentrating] Well, I know that middle one is the lie. Uh, go slower, maybe? [He leans a little closer, all but burying his nose in the crook of her neck as he sniffs.]

[She giggles when he sniffs her neck, resisting the urge to push him away. Jeez, Sollux, that tickles!]

Okay, okay! Dave smells like hoofbeast barf.

[He laughs, licking a little with his tongues] Nope, that's got to be true!

[But he straightens up, snickering] I think it smelled a little weird, though. Might just be my imagination, but it went a bit...sour.

[She laughs again and elbows him in the side.]

Yes, that is exactly right!

Wow. [He sits back a little, shaking his head and rubbing the place where her elbow impacted his ribs] I can't believe... I think I'm starting to get this.

[She leans her head against his shoulder.]

You are a very good student.

[Pleased, he leans his head against hers, avoiding the horns automatically]

Not like I've got anything better to do than practice.

Maybe the extra tongue helps, too.
